The Company

We have pursued building projects for more than 12 years in the DC Metropolitan Washington Area, with particular emphasis on luxury development projects in Northern Virginia and Montgomery County, Maryland.

The Company is particularly dedicated to a high standard of craftsmanship, and attention to detail while ensuring an outstanding level of customer satisfaction. True to its mandate, Botero Homes has designed, built and sold a number of homes that reflect every aspect of comfort, luxury and attention to detail.

Since 1999, We have completed and sold beautiful homes in: the Bradley Hills community of Bethesda, Maryland, in the Lucky Estates community of Tyson's Corner, in Middleburg, Virginia, in the Foxvale Community of Oakton.

Over the past couple of years, Botero Homes has focused on the prestigious Great Falls area where it developed several homes and two landmark properties in particular:

  • In 2005, Botero Homes finished and sold Carrwood, an extraordinary mansion in Great Falls for which it won a "2005 Monument Award" in the $2million and above category.
  • In 2006, Botero Homes finished one of its most magnificent works of art to date. A 12,000 square feet masterpiece called Spring I for which it was awarded the First Prize "Monument Award" for a 2nd year in a row. But this time, in the $4million and above category.
  • In recent years has built 5 mansions in Great Falls

The Team

Omar Botero-Paramo Sr., CEO

Mr. Botero worked for his PhD in economics at Vanderbilt University and is an authority on economic development issues. With over 30 years of experience in the industry, Mr. Botero is an experienced real estate developer.

Through the course of his professional career, Mr. Botero has successfully combined his economics' training with his passion for real estate development. During his tenure as President and CEO of Compañia Andina de Construcción LLC, he planned and developed a community of 600 low-income homes and built a large subdivision 117 middle-income units in Colombia. Mr. Botero also ran one of the largest real estate companies in Bogotá, Corredores Inmobiliarios LLC, where he also served as President and CEO.

Finally, and before returning to the United States, his country of citizenship, Mr. Botero was involved in the study of heavy construction projects, which included developing and building hydropower plants in Colombia and Bolivia, and the construction of an oil pipeline from Bolivia to Argentina.

Maritza Urdinola, Chief Land Selection Officer

Mrs. Urdinola has worked very closely with her husband, Mr. Botero, and has gained a unique talent for sourcing the best land opportunities in DC, VA, MD areas. She is an Attorney that specialized in Family Law in Colombia and expanded her practice to International Trade. She worked as Special Advisor to the Minister of Agriculture and she headed the Department of Trading Companies at Proexport Colombia. At present time, she works as Office Manager and Chief Land Selection Officer for Botero Homes.

Felipe Valdes, VP and CFO

Mr. Valdes originally graduated as a Veterinary Doctor. He later switched gears in 1994 and obtained his Masters in Business Administration and Finance, specializing in Budget Preparation and Control for the construction industry. He has a Realtor's license with Long & Foster and has become very knowledgeable in land available in Fairfax County. In 2010 he joined Botero Homes to prepare construction budgets for each home. In February 2011, he was admitted as partner at Botero Homes and Chief Financial Officer. He works with Maritza Urdinola in the process of land selection for our clients and teams up with Mr. Botero in helping our clients to obtain the construction loans from Banks that partner with Botero in financing our clients.

Ken Ramirez, Construction Manager and Chief Architectural Designer

Mr. Ramirez was born in the Philippines and later relocated to the U.S in 1994 where he specialized in Architectural and AutoCAD Design. From 1995 to 2002, he worked with a premier builder in the McLean area in the construction of multimillion-dollar homes. In 2003 he launched his own company (Bullrun Cadd) where he prepared plans for elite builders, among them, Botero Homes. In 2010, he joined Botero Homes as Construction Manager, and since February 2011, he was admitted as Partner and Chief Architectural Officer. He teams up with Mr. Botero in the Design of Custom homes and the supervision of the construction process of all Botero homes.
